THE IRON Mountain Sportif, the centrepiece of the 2011 Abergavenny Festival of Cycling, starts and finishes at Bailey Park in just a few weeks.

And the Abergavenny Chronicle, in partnership with Gateway Cycles, have a great prize on offer for those entering through the paper.

The Chronicle is supporting the Iron Mountain Sportif Leisure Ride where families and friends can enjoy the beautiful Monmouthshire countryside on Saturday July 9.

The easy 19-miles route takes riders from Bailey Park, Abergavenny, through the quiet country roads of the county towards Usk where they will turn back northwards at Llancayo to pass by Chainbridge and Llanvihangel Gobion back to the finish line in the town's park.

Now Gateway Cycles have a top-class cycling jersey on offer in this free-to-enter prize draw that is only available by filling out and returning the entry form for the Leisure Ride in the Chronicle and online.

Just write in your details on the form, send it with your entry fees to the address given and you will be in with a chance of taking home the brand new jersey.

The Iron Mountain Sportif is also a fantastic way for people to make money for good causes and, over the years, riders taking part in the Festival of Cycling have raised thousands of pounds for their own personal charities.

It promises to be a fantastic weekend of cycling on July 8, 9 and 10, whether riders are enjoying the journey over 19-miles or trying their luck over the full 100-mile ride that includes a trip up the Tumble Mountain - The Keepers - between Abergavenny and Blaenavon.
