Update: Cross Street is now openTwo fire crews are currently tackling a fire which broke out around lunchtime at an Abergavenny shop.

Teams from South Wales Fire and Rescue service evacuated the Savers store on Cross Street, before cordoning off the outside and closing the road.

The fire, one employee told the Chronicle, started after an electrical fault.

Firefighters are currently working to deal with the incident. Gwent Police are also in attendance.

It is thought that nobody has been hurt.
