PRE-HISTORY was brought to life for pupils at an Abergavenny junior school when a selection of dinosaurs, along with their handlers, popped around for a visit.
The visit gave pupils at Llantilio Pertholey School the chance to get up close and personal with ancient artefacts and even a few scarily realistic models - including Spike the Spinosaurus - during the visit from South Wales based company, Dino4Hire.
The session involved an hour long talk from visiting dinosaur experts, Chris Roberts and David Oakman, which involved a selection of informative videos and songs.
Chris said, ‘Studying dinosaurs covers a lot of fields, including Literacy and Mathematics, and everything that’s important in the foundation phase. We try and make it as interactive as possible’.
Stephanie Hall, class teacher for Year 2, added, ‘We wanted something to encourage the children to write and inviting the dinosaurs and their handlers into the school seemed like an inspiring idea’.
