CLIMBING three mountains in a day is an achievement for anyone, let alone a local schoolboy.

Six year old Dylan Carlyon, a pupil at Ysgol Gymraeg Y Fenni, will be taking on the Beacons three peaks to raise funds for the Noah's Ark Appeal.

All moneys raised will go to the appeal in order to build a dedicated hydrotherapy pool for children as part of their "splish splash splosh" theme. This is a cause particularly close to Dylan's heart as his younger brother Hari has undergone hydrotherapy as part of his treatment to combat health issues in the past.

Currently, the nearest hydrotherapy pool is a shared resource, and only an hour a week is allocated for the treatment of the children. A new, state-of-the-art pool will mean that more children and young people can benefit from hydrotherapy, which can be used to treat development delay, neurology, neurosurgical, orthopaedic, oncology and respiratory patients.

Having heard about the appeal in school, Dylan decided to do something to help. On Saturday, August 6, he will climb the Skirrid mountain, the Sugarloaf mountain and Pen-Y-Fan with the support of his family and friends and he'd like your help to reach his £500 target.
