A GOVILON pet lover is distraught after her two French Bulldogs disappeared from the back garden on Friday, February 9.

Nicola Embrey-Jones of Twyn Allws Road, put the twin dogs, Bert and Ernie, into the back garden at around 10.30am from where it is feared they found a way out.

Nicola told the Chronicle, ‘I popped them into the back garden while I went to get changed for work; it couldn’t have been more than a few minutes. I’m afraid they might have got out under the gate. A neighbour’s CCTV shows them running together up the road.’

Nicola has since monitored dog sale sites, local vets and social media in an effort to discover where her beloved pets have disappeared to.

‘I have a son, Tomas, aged 7 who is heartbroken, he misses them terribly’, Nicola stated, adding, ‘My stepdaughter Alysha lives in Llanhilleth and she has also launched a campaign to help locate Bert and Ernie.’

Alysha’s campaign to reunite the pair with their owners involved the setting up of a dedicated Facebook page named ‘Bert and Ernie Appeal’ which shares pictures and videos of the dogs.

Nicola and family have also offered a substantial reward for the return of the pair stating, ‘We just want our boys home safe.’ Anyone who can help or has any information is invited to contact Nicola on 07841 911479 or visit Bert and Ernie’s Facebook appeal page.
