A local woman has received widespread congratulations after her dog won an award at the prestigious Crufts Dog Show.

Janet Morris from Goytre near Abergavenny with her Chesapeake Bay Retriever, Dibble, won 1st in the Working Dog class. No novice to competing at Crufts, Janet has won 11 Best of Breeds with her dogs.

Dibble, to give him his full name Penrose Incredible is a Full Champion – winning in both show and work. He is also a Dutch Champion, a Luxemburg Champion and an International Champion.

Wearing the Ukraine flag colours at the event which ran from Thursday March 10 to Sunday March 13 at the NEC Arena in Birmingham, Janet was sponsored by Ron Skinner & Sons car sales to raise money for the Kennel Club Charitable Trust Ukraine fund.

The Kennel Club thanked Mr Skinner for his generosity and would be pleased to hear from anyone wishing to make a donation to the Ukraine fund which will help support dogs and other animals in Ukraine and surrounding countries.
