Police have arrested and charged an Abergavenny teenager with two burglaries, it has emerged.

Officers confirmed a 17-year-old local male, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was arrested last Friday in connection with recent shop burglaries.

A police spokesperson said, “A 17-year-old youth from the Abergavenny area has been arrested and charged following two commercial burglaries in Abergavenny.

“He has now been bailed to appear before court on 5th February 2019. He also has conditions to remain indoors between 7pm and 7am and to present himself to officers.”

Officers are continuing to investigate other burglaries in the area and are encouraging the community to report their concerns to via 101 or direct message via our Gwent Police Facebook and Twitter social media pages.
