ALLOWANCES for councillors and cabinet members from Monmouthshire County Council have been revealed.

The Members' Allowances for 2009-2010 show that the leader, Councillor Peter Fox received a basic allowance of £12,825.96, a special responsibility allowance of £27,678.96, travel allowances of £2,865.60, a total of £44,085.52.

In Abergavenny Councillor Douglas Edwards received a basic allowance of £12,825.96, £876 travel and a reimbursement of travel £118.96, a total of £13,820.92. Councillor Jane Foulser received a basic allowance of £12,806.64 and a personal allowance of £7,652.98 as Chair and Vice Chair of the council. Councillor James George received £12,825.96 basic allowance and £572 travel, a total of £13,397.96. Councillor Giles Howard received a basic of £12,825.96, £13,184.32 special responsibility and travel £3235.60 with £155.40, a total of £29,401.28. Councillor Simon Howarth received a basic allowance of £12,825.96 and travel allowances of £2,473.18, a total of £15,299.14. Councillor Paul Jordan received £12,805.92 basic allowances, £8,304 special responsibility and £778.40 travel, a total of £21,888.32. Councillor Maureen Powell received a basic of £12,825.96 and travel of £1,036.40, a total of £13,863.36. Councillor John Prosser received a basic of £12,807.12, travel £704.40, a total of £13,511.52. Councillor Christine Walby received a basic of £12,825.96, travel of £743.20, a total of £12,569.16.
