Police are urging public vigilance after reports of ‘aggressive’ cold-callers visiting the Abergavenny area were made over the weekend.

Gwent Police were told groups of teenaged males became aggressive with residents of Springfield Road, and Mount Street, in Abergavenny, on Sunday evening.

One male was alleged to have become aggressive after a local refused the chance to buy household products the group were selling, with, they insisted, permission from the probation services.

“It is concerning because we have quite a large older population in Abergavenny,” said PCSO Amanda Yung.

“We urge anyone who may be concerned about such behaviour, to get in touch with us.”

The men were said to be of teen age, and wearing tracksuits and bobble hats.

If anyone has concerns, they can contact police on 101.
