Young people are set to get together in Abergavenny this Saturday (July 9) for a day of music, dance, drama and sport.

The Integrated Youth Event (IYE) Festival will see young performers entertain the crowds in the town’s Bailey Park from 11am to 6pm.

Community groups and the emergency services will also be involved, including the Fire and Rescue Service and the RAF. There will be medieval games, spray painting, mask-making and a chance to play cops and robbers as it used to be, with the ‘criminals’ ending in the stocks.

There’ll also be a chill-out tent for parents with young children.

The event, which is free, is organised by 7Corners, a project funded by the Bridge to Cross Charitable Trust dedicated to offering hope and hospitality to all young people by providing a safe space in Abergavenny for them to meet, get help with personal development and support if needed.

The festival is being supported by Abergavenny Town Council, Awards for All Wales and Purple Turtle Enterprises.
