AN Abergavenny police officer and community support officer have been awarded Chief Constable Commendations in recognition of their work.
PC Tracey Bowen Quirk and PCSO Darran Grady were recognised for their praiseworthy and notable acts over and above what is normally expected of them.
PC Bowen Quirk is being commended for the work she has undertaken as part of Abergavenny Neighbourhood Policing Team.
Through her patrols, initiatives and visits to local schools she has made a real impact and improved significantly the relationships between the police and some of the more 'hard to reach' youths in her ward areas.
Tracey is also the local Wildlife Liaison Officer and has completed a Foundation Degree in Police Studies. She is highly regarded by the many members of her community and her colleagues.
Darran Grady is being recognised for his work as a PCSO in the Monmouth and Abergavenny Neighbourhood Policing Teams.
Through patrols and his links with the community, Darran has generated a great deal of intelligence that has enabled the neighbourhood team to function more effectively.
Darran is an extremely hard working and pro-active Police Community Support Officer. He has delivered many crime prevention talks to a variety of audiences and has shown a firm commitment to delivering a quality service to victims of crime.
Darran is also committed to improving the quality of life of residents living in within his ward communities and has shown great compassion and dedication to resolving some long standing problems.
