There’s little improvement on the area’s roads this morning with authorities again calling on people to only travel if it is essential.

With the A465 closed between Abergavenny and Brynmawr the A40 is also closed in both directions between Crickhowell and Brecon.

As the cold continues to bite Abergavenny’s Gateway Church has said that it will be open during most of the day and overnight until Saturday the day and night to offer shelter to any homeless person needing to sleep.

“We will also be able to offer shower and laundry facilities, refreshments and breakfast before they leave in the morning,” said church pastor Christopher Vaz

“Thank you so much to everyone in our fabulous community who have come forward to offer support in one way or the other. We are so blessed in Abergavenny and by God’s grace we can do this together,” he said.
