A SILVER Ford Focus crashed into a wall on Hereford Road this morning, projecting rubble towards properties and smashing a bench in the process.

The vehicle crashed into the wall, just after the junction for Park Avenue, between 7:15 and 7:25am, alarming residents of the nearby bungalows.

Nigel Lewis, 68, of 46 Hereford Road said, "I was just in the kitchen when I heard a bang, well a few bangs. Then I saw the young man get out of the car. He was holding his chest, but didn't seem to be badly hurt."

A Hereford bound bus stopped to allow passengers to help the man involved in the crash, and Police arrived on the scene approximately an hour later.

No further information has yet been released by the police.
