An excellent evening of good food, good company and pleasant surroundings were the start of what members hoped will be a very enjoyable year for Bryngwyn WI.

Sue Womack, President, welcomed members to The Cripple Creek Inn for their New Year meal and wished everyone a happy and healthy New Year.

Members were asked to carefully read through the county letter taking particular notice of several points; the 95th Anniversary Service of the Gwent Federation on Saturday, February 20; the St. David’s Day Welsh afternoon tea for the National Eisteddfod on Tuesday, March 1; the National Eisteddfod in August and the quiz night on April 1. These matters will be discussed in full at the February meeting.

The programme for 2016 was distributed and members were pleased to see a varied range of topics from the Magna Carta to a cookery demonstration - something for everyone.

Sue thanked Carolyn Clode, mine host of the Cripple Creek, for the excellent meal and the warm welcome which Bryngwyn WI had received.
