Costain has postponed the planned closure of Hafod Road in Brynmawr while alternative measures are considered.During recent work along Hafod Road, as part of the ‘tie in’ to the new road system below Brynmawr Foundation School, an area of mine workings have been exposed which are in need of additional treatment.

The company has been working with Blaenau Gwent County Borough Council to agree what action needs to be taken.

Emergency repairs were supposed to start this Wednesday and last three weeks.
