AN APPEAL has been made for witnesses to a fatal road traffic collision that occurred on Friday, August 19 at approximately 1.50pm. A single vehicle, a Green Jaguar X Type was travelling northbound on the A449 just prior to Usk when it left the carriageway.

The driver, Paul Kelly, aged 58 years from Tredegar, was taken by Air Ambulance to Cardiff but he later died from his injuries.

The carriageway was closed for five hours whilst specialist officers carried out an investigation. Police are appealing for anyone who has any information or who was in the area at the time of the incident and saw the vehicle to contact them on 101.
