Monmouth AM Nick Ramsay is calling for a site visit with Costain, contractors for the A465 dualling scheme, in response to complaints from a local resident.
Nick recently paid a visit to a farm at Glanbaiden whose owner is very concerned by the noise emanating from the nearby road construction work.
The constituent breeds prize-winning Welsh Cobs which are in foal and suffering distress at the noise levels. Plans to continue the construction work through the night will only make the situation worse.
“Noise from the construction work is clearly causing residents and local livestock distress,” said Nick.
“I have contacted Costain to see if some compromise can be reached so that work building the new road can continue without undue distress being caused to residents.
“I have suggested a site meeting which I would be happy to attend to try to negotiate a satisfactory outcome.”
