MEMBERS of Usk Valley Trampoline Club were bouncing for joy after reaching dizzying heights at the first Welsh Trampoline Grades competition of the year.

Held last Saturday at Cardiff's Welsh Institute of Sport, trophy winners included Ella Jackson and Jade Cork who came second and third respectively in the U11 Girls Grade H category. Ella and Jade also won the gold team medal with team mate Ashleigh Witcombe.

In the U15 Girls Section Grade I, Angharad Oliver took second place, whilst in U15 Girls Grade H, Aisling Tarpey took third place.

Grade I team medals were won by Isabel Broadribb, Alexandra Hill and Louise Morgan who collected the silver, and Cerys Hemmings, Angharad Oliver and Madeleine Williams who picked up the bronze.

Grade H team medals were collected by Cheyenne Sinclair, Rebekah John and Siobhan Carney - who all took silver, and Aisling Tarpey, Morgan Westacott and Stephanie Feeney who took bronze.

In the U15 Boys Section Grade I - Henry Cox was the winner, followed by Ryan Milling in second place and Craig Hale in third. These three boys also took team gold.

Sam Rowe was the winner of the U15 Boys Grade H, and in the 15-plus age category Sian Williams was first in Grade I, Alice Vaatstra second in Grade H, and in Grade G, Rebecca Litt was second and Annabel Mills came third.

There were many other good placings throughout the day within the top five, and for many of these members this was their first Welsh competition.

Barbara Digby-North, who runs the club which trains locally at Crickhowell and Pontypool, congratulated the children on their success, and the extra they had put in.

Although the Pontypool class is now full, there are some vacancies at the Crickhowell venue for those who are interested in the sport.
