Patrick Martin and his wife Margaret were declared bankrupt at a hearing in Cardiff County Court yesterday (Thursday) following the bankruptcy of their son Alex Martin earlier this month.

At 3:12pm, Judge Andrew Keyser QC accepted the petition from Oasis Communication Services and other creditors to declare Mr and Mrs Martin bankrupt. Both were deemed to be partners in the company Martins Jewellers.

It was also accepted that the company Martins Jewellers be 'wound down' following an additional petition put before the court on the same day.

The Martin's assets are now in the possession of the Insolvency Practitioner. All assets will be sold to pay the £6million Mr Alex Martin and the company Martins Jewellers owes to the various creditors.
