A 35 year old Abergavenny man was injured in an alleged stabbing incident in Cross Street on Friday night.

He was taken to Nevill Hall Hospital where he was treated for a puncture wound in his neck.

Gwent Police arrested a 23 year old Bargoed man and he appeared before Caerphilly magistrates on Monday charged with wounding.

The case was referred to the crown court.
