A care home in Abergavenny has been ranked as one of the top 100 in the whole of the UK! It’s also inside the top 10 for outside spaces in the country.

Foxhunters Care Community, in Llanfoist, has been recognised at the 2026 Lottie Awards, which celebrates care homes that demonstrate exceptional standards of care, resident wellbeing, facilities and family experience.

The annual awards evaluate thousands of care homes across the UK using a rigorous, data-led assessment process. Homes are judged against a range of factors including regulator ratings, resident and family reviews, facilities, activities, enquiry handling, and overall quality of care. Out of 14,000 care homes to have been considered, making the top 100 can be seen as an impressive achievement for the staff and residents.

Foxhunters, which is part of Dormy Care Communities, was recognised not only for its outstanding overall performance but also for its exceptional outdoor environment. Lottie's Best in Outdoor Space category celebrates homes with beautifully designed, accessible gardens and green spaces that enrich residents' quality of life throughout the year.

Set with a stunning view of The Blorenge on the edge of the Bannau Brycheiniog National Park, Foxhunters is already recognised as one of the leading Welsh care homes, having been rated ‘excellent’ across all areas in a recent report from the Care Inspectorate Wales.

It’s also named in the top 100 of the Knight Frank Luxury Care Home Guide for the seventh consecutive year.
