Moby Dick- the Musical – Junior AAODS latest show is all set to hit the stage at the Borough Theatre, Abergavenny 25 – 29 October – a half term treat for all the family.

“ We have a great bunch of young people in this show whose ages range from 9 – 19. As always they have worked their socks off.

“The show is not one everyone will have heard of but has just been revived in London so we’re on the ball to give Abergavenny an up to the minute show’ said AAODS Chairman Jill Murray

Based around their attempt to fund raise to save their school, St Godley’s Academy from closing, the pupils devise their own musical based on the tale of Moby Dick – well vaguely anyway. It’s a madcap affair with each member playing at least two roles – as a pupil or school employee then as a member of crew searching for Moby Dick.

This year the society will also be fund-raising for The Kids Cancer Charity, a Welsh based organisation which supports children, teenagers and their families who are affected by cancer.

The South Wales-based charity has three luxury caravans which provide families with seaside breaks at locations along the Welsh coastline.

This year, Kids Cancer Charity (formerly Christian Lewis Trust) will commemorate 27 years of caring and supporting families affected by cancer.  Since 1989, the charity has helped many thousands of families and gained UK-wide recognition for its work and activities.

Eira Gwynn, Appeals Office Manager at Kids Cancer Charity, said“As a small charity we are entirely dependent on voluntary donations to maintain the services we provide which are: Compassionate Care Respite Breaks UK; Play Therapy; Bereavement Support; Bereavement Counselling; Travel Insurance advice; and the American and French Dream Experience.

“So you can appreciate our delight when Jill Murray contacted us to say that (AAODS) would be donating. We hope that AAODS’ generosity will inspire more people to support our cause.”

Don’t miss this hilarious show – it’s a Whale of a Tale!!
