MUSIC and drama companies which make their home at Abergavenny’s Borough Theatre will be joining forces for the venue’s traditional ‘Welcome to Christmas’ performance which takes place on Sunday, December 17.

Organised by A4B the organisation representing Abergavenny’s amateur theatre community, this year’s evening of fun and music will offer a ‘Christmas Miscellany’ and offer music ranging from Medieval carols to music from popular festive television adverts all performed by some of the town’s best known local performers.

Stages by members of AAODS, Abergavenny Pantomime Company, Abergavenny Theatre Group and Breakthrough Productions, the evening will also offer the audience the chance to join in the fun with the traditional Christmas sing-a-long with traditional carols and songs from O Come All Ye Faithful to White Christmas.

Musical director for the evening Sarah Fowler explained, ‘This is a chance for many of Abergavenny’s theatre companies to join forces and celebrate the festive season together.

“We try to make it as much fun as possible and hope that the audience comes along, has a free mince pie and glass of mulled wine and enjoys it as much as we all do.

“This year will be lovely for all of us at the theatre because we will be welcoming back to the stage some familiar faces who are either away at university or away making their living in the theatre and we’re all looking forward to seeing them,” added Sarah

Welcome to Christmas can be seen at the Borough Theatre on Sunday, December 17 at 7.30pm and money raised at the concert is used directly to support the theatre.
