Gwent Police are appealing for information following a burglary in Avenue Road, Abergavenny sometime between 7.20am and 1.20pm last Thursday (February 9).

The offender/s gained entry via a patio door and following an untidy search stole a large quantity of jewellery, both valuable and of sentimental value.

Officers are keen to speak with a man who witnesses saw at approximately midday carrying a cardboard box with a pink plastic item on top.

He was using a dark coloured soft top vehicle with the roof down, which was seen in the area at the time.

He is described as white and approximately 5ft 9 tall with short dark hair and a dark coloured jacket.

He was then seen to drive in the direction of Pen Y Pound in Abergavenny.

In addition, a small white van with blue writing on the side was also seen driving away from the area at a similar time.

The driver can only be described as having brown hair.

These men are not suspects just witnesses and maybe able to help officers with their enquires.

The victim has also discovered a large blue plastic storage container is missing and it’s believed the offender/s may have used this to carry some of the stolen items.
