South Wales Fire and Rescue Service is holding a Road Traffic Collision Awareness Day at Abergavenny Fire and Rescue Station this Saturday (January 23).

The event will include a presentation with a Q&A session to show how one road traffic collision can affect many people’s lives and the importance of driving safely.

The day will also include an extrication demonstration, where firefighters will demonstrate their skills in safely removing a casualty after a crash and will be answering questions during and after the demonstration.

Gwent Police will also be attending with a mobile police station and traffic unit.

The event will start at 9.30am with the presentation and refreshments and will finish no later than 12.30pm.
