GWENT Police is appealing for information and reminding residents to secure their property following a spate of shed and garage breaks in the Monmouthshire area.

In a run of similar attacks a shed was broken into on Brunant Road in Clydach around August 6 when a padlock was removed and damaged caused (log 190 06/08/16). This was followed by an attempted break in at Poplars Close in Mardy on August 9 (log 36 09/08/16).

Overnight on Augsut 14 an outbuilding was broken into near Fforest Coal Pit and red diesel canisters stolen (log 356 18/08/16).

while there was also a break in at three outbuildings on Cross Street in Abergavenny which saw lead and scaffolding stolen sometime between August 11-18 (log 221 19/08/16) with another attempted break in overnight on the August 23 2016 where a padlock was broken on an outbuilding (log 372 24/08/16).

On August 29 it was reported that high value electrical gardening equipment had been stolen from a shed in Monmouth Road, Abergavenny (log 349 29/08/16) with tools also stolen from a shed in Llanvapley sometime between August 16-29 (log: 559 29/08/16).

Residents are reminded to ensure that sheds and garages are kept locked and secure at all times and that any items not in use are stored away securely and out of sight.
