FOUR people are in hospital with head injuries following an incident in Frogmore Street in Abergavenny on Saturday evening.

Police were called to the scene of the incident at around 5.40 on Saturday and five men have been arrested on suspicion of assault and violent disorder.

A police officer was also slightly injured during the incident. “We are appealing for witnesses following reports of serious disorder tonight, Saturday 22nd June, in Abergavenny,” said a police spokesman. “At about 5.40pm officers were called to the scene at Frogmore Street. Officers arrested five men on suspicion of assault and violent disorder – they are currently in police custody. “Four people have been taken to Nevill Hall Hospital with head injuries where they are currently being treated.
