A fire crew from Abergavenny was called to the Farmer’s Arms in the town earlier today when a fire broke out forcing the employees to evacuate the building.
Tracy West, who works at the pub, said, “We’ve had a slight problem. We’re not sure what has caused it yet, but we had to evacuate and get everyone out.”
She added that the manager of the pub was talking to the emergency services, who were doing an assessment of the building to try and determine the cause of the problem.
An onlooker said, “I had just walked past when I saw the fire engine leaving. There was a lot of smoke. I’m told it was something to do with the kitchen upstairs.”
