Gwent Police are appealing for witnesses following an incident on the A4042 from Pontypool towards Abergavenny.

At approximately 12.50pm on November 7 an unknown vehicle pulled across the road causing a red Fiat Punto to veer off the road and narrowly miss a head on collision with a lamp post. Fortunately no-one was injured as a result of the incident.

The offending vehicle drove away from the scene.

Passers-by stopped to assist the driver of the Punto.

Officers are interested in speaking to these people in case they have information that could assist their enquiries.
