An Air Ambulance crew has scrambled to a two vehicle crash on the A465 this morning.
Rush hour traffic is blocked in both directions between the Hardwick roundabout, and the Skenfrith turning.
A South Wales Fire and Rescue spokeswoman said fire teams from Abergavenny and Blaenavon have attended the scene alongside a rescue tender from Ebbw Vale.
A Welsh Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: "We were called shortly after 7.00am this morning to reports of a road traffic accident involving a car and a van near Abergavenny Railway Station.
"We sent two emergency ambulances to the scene.
"One male was taken to University Hospital of Wales with serious injuries.
"We also took one male to Nevill Hall Hospital with injuries not believed to be life-threatening."
A Gwent Police spokeswoman said: "At approximately 7:00am, we were called to reports of a two vehicle RTC on the A465.
"A male was taken to the University Hospital of Wales with serious injuries, another male was taken to Nevill Hall hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
"Officers are currently at the scene and the road remains closed at this time."
