ABERGAVENNY Town have made a bright start to their pre-season matches. A 0-1 defeat to Merthyr Town was sandwiched between a crushing 8-0 victory against Caerleon Town and a 9-0 demolition of Treowen Stars. Having secured the signings of Tom Indge, Ben Walker, Dan Jenkins, Niall Yeates, Aaron Davies and Curtis Pitt, the Club are confident they can launch a challenge for Gwent County title honours this season. A club spokesman said, "So far things have gone very well in pre-season and what is heartening is that players are signing up thick and fast and committing themselves to the Town. What we now need is more help off the field, especially help with looking after the pitch, and the multitude of tasks on match day. Also urgently required is a management team and secretary for our Gwent Central side. which will be an exciting and rare opportunity for someone to step in and work with a group of truly talented young players, who themselves will be pushing for honours."
