CANCER Research UK is seeking volunteers in Abergavenny and District to help with promoting this year's breast cancer awareness campaign.

Volunteers are needed to help the local Area Volunteer Manager promote Cancer Research UK's 'Join The Fight' campaign leading up to October's Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Anyone can help and the role is very flexible allowing volunteers to give as much or as little time as they have available. Cancer Research UK's 'Join The Fight' campaign aims to make all women aware of their risk of breast cancer and raise funds to tackle the disease which affects 44,000 women every year in the UK. As well as raising awareness, volunteers will be involved in distributing fundraising materials, helping to arrange launch events and encouraging local supporters to arrange pink fundraising events. Cancer Research UK is the leading funder of breast cancer research in the UK, spending more than £22 million a year on vital research into the causes, preventions and treatments of breast cancer.

Anyone interested in volunteering should contact Area Volunteer Manager Linda Strange on 07831 448335 or by e-mail at [email protected]">[email protected].
