It’s not just us old dudes cycling through France at the moment!
Today we left after a sumptuous breakfast under clear blue skies, only for the grey clouds to gather overhead.
THIS week sees a group of keen cyclists from Crickhowell continuing their marathon journey from Santander in northern Spain to start their road trip back to Scaer, and on to the ferryport at Roscoff - a trip of around 800 miles including a bit of the Pyrenees- in 12 days.
As promised the group will be updating their progress every day via our website:
Heading north again we passed through a few more vineyards before coming again to areas like the Newport levels, big drainage ditches crisscrossing the fields by the road - nasty if one fell in!
A slight change of itinerary took a few of us along the coast road to La Rochelle, an ancient city with lots of history with British connections. Full of tourists even at this time of year it was worth the detour.
Before we got there we had moule frites on the beach at Chatilion surs Mers. Again a lovely gîte before 80 or miles tomorrow to Nantes.
