Burglars raided a local NFU Mutual branch in Abergavenny this morning, before running off with cash, a laptop and two charity collection boxes, police have said.

The offenders smashed through the panelled front door before ransacking the building, then emptying the two cash tins in nearby Bailey Park.

A police spokeswoman, said, “At approximately 6.27am this morning we received a report of a burglary at the NFU Mutual in Abergavenny.

 

“The offenders gained entry by smashing a window and items including a laptop, 2 charity collection boxes in the shape of golden retrievers and cash tins were taken. 

 

“The cash tins were found empty at nearby Bailey Park at about 6.55am.  The laptop and collection boxes have not yet been located.”

 

Police are appealing for anyone who was in the area and may have seen something, or anyone who has any information,  to call them on 101 and quote log number 78 10/8/17.
