EVER fancied cycling five nations in five days? That's the challenge which a team of three local and one London based cyclist have set themselves in order to raise money for charity.
Mike James, Richard Withers, Sarah Withers and Klaus Steed will put on the lycra and get in the saddle this May to attempt 'mission impossible'.
The team will be setting off from London on May 16 and aim to cycle a total distance of just under 1000 miles, covering Edinburgh, Belfast, Dublin, and arriving in Cardiff on May 20.
As well as challenging themselves on a personal basis, the main purpose of the ride is obviously to raise as much money as they can for their chosen charities.
A spokesperson for the team said, "Our team has come together through a desire to get involved in fund raising combined with the personal physical challenge that an event such as this creates.
"As a team we are fully aware of the economic pressures facing all of us at this time. In many ways it makes it even more important that we do not forget those who rely on the generosity of others to continue their amazing work."
Funds from the ride will go towards Help for Heroes, Ty Hafan Hospice in Cardiff and Trinity Hospice in Clapham.
The Five Nations, Five Days Team hope to achieve or even exceed a fund raising target of ten thousand pounds. To assist them in this please visit http://www.virginmoneygiving.com/team/fivenationsbike">www.virginmoneygiving.com/team/fivenationsbike.
