IT was very much a tale of tally ho ho on Boxing Day in Abergavenny as hundreds braved the Christmas chill to line the streets and cheer off the riders and their hounds who were eager to get this year’s Monmouthshire hunt underway.

Changeable weather was never going to deter ardent supporters from a Boxing Day event that boasts more than 300 years of history.

One hunt attendee said jubilantly, “I’ve been attending this particular hunt with my family for years. It’s a great Christmas tradition and a great way to shake off the Christmas cobwebs.”
