14-year-old Matthew Jayne's wealth of watery achievements are rising like the tide after the Crickhowell swimmer qualified for six events in the forthcoming British Age Group Championships.
Matthew, whose swimming career started in Abergavenny, now represents the Abertillery Piranhas and the Welsh Regional Squad.
His gruelling training schedule entails that he trains 12 times a week with his club and twice a week in Swansea with the regional squad. This intense routine includes early morning pre-school swims which can prove to be quite a challenge.
Matthew's proud father Paul explained, "Because of his training, getting Matt to school on time can often be a challenge, but both my wife and I, together with his grandparents, take it in turns to ferry him to and fro so that he can attend the amount of training sessions his dedication warrants."
Paul added, "Matt works very hard and has represented the Regional Welsh Team all over the UK in competitions. Last year he qualified for four events in the British Champs, but this time around he has made the grade for six.
"Both myself, his mum, and his sister Abi, who is also a swimmer, are immensely proud of him."
Now with his sights well and truly set on the British Age Group Championships to be held in Sheffield this July, Matt will hope to pool his resources, create a splash and cause a fair few ripples in the following six events - 100m freestyle, 200m freestyle, 400m freestyle, 800m freestyle, 100m butterfly and 200m butterfly.
