Gwent Police have issued a stark warning to Abergavenny locals after a rogue batch of Ecstasy pills led to the death of young woman in Manchester.

Although the events are not directly connected to the Monmouthshire area, police acted to warn-off anyone who may come across the drugs.
A police spokeswoman said, “We are issuing a safety warning following the death of one woman and the hospitalisation of two others, who experienced an adverse reaction to a form of Ecstasy.??“Earlier this month, a 17-year-old girl sadly died after taking a ‘Mastercard’ ecstasy pill, which contained a stronger variant of the substance.
“Whilst there is no evidence to suggest these drugs are available in the Gwent area, we would like to take this opportunity to remind would-be drug users of the dangers – please do not risk it!”
