TWO intrepid seven-year-olds will be climbing Wales' highest mountain this month after being inspired by their friend reports GEMMA BALL.

Isabel Young and Evie Hond will be climbing 3,560 feet to Snowdon's summit on September 24 to raise money for children's cancer charity LATCH.

The duo, along with their dads Jason Young and David Hond, were inspired to climb Wales' highest mountain by five-year-old Sam Ford, the son of Jason's friend, who at three-months-old had a brain tumour removed and was cared for by LATCH.

Jason, who owns Eazability in Abergavenny's Cross Street, said, "Last year I climbed Snowdon with a group of friends and raised £3,000 for the charity, but this year the girls said they wanted to come so we are climbing the easier Llanberis path instead of the Miners path which we climbed last year."

Explaining why she wanted to climb Snowdon Isabel said, "My daddy's friend's son used to have cancer so that's why we are doing it.

"I've been up loads of mountains and I am excited but my nan said it's very high and steep."

Isabel has been training hard by walking up mountains near her home in Rogerstone and has even been 'working out' in her dad's mini gym in the garage of the family home.
