PLANNING chiefs voted against proposals to build a caravan park near Abergavenny.
The application for 40 van site at the Market Garden, Tredillion, has been rejected for a second time.
Monmouth AM Nick Ramsay has backed campaigners and says residents' main concerns are about the visual impact on the surrounding countryside.
He said: "My main concern, as before, is that this site is, by virtue of its gradient/position, particularly visible from the Skirrid/Brecon Beacons National Park.
As I said in committee last time this was considered, this is a particularly beautiful area and any decisions regarding these type of developments will not just have an impact today but also on the Monmouthshire countryside for future generations. We are custodians of our countryside."
