MEMBERS of Llantilio Pertholey WI dressed as my fair ladies and enjoyed a loverly garden party.

President of the group Maureen Braithwaite said the My Fair Lady themed garden party at her premises in Lansdown Road was a great success.

Apart from one small shower the rain stayed off for the party and all 30 members stayed dry in their elegant outfits and hats.

"Everyone was dressed beautifully and there were the most lovely hats, we all had a great time and I would like to thank the committee for working so hard and especially for the catering. We celebrate our 90th anniversary next year so the celebrations will be bigger and better," said Mrs Braithwaite.

The ladies enjoyed fruit punch, strawberries and cream, cakes and afternoon tea. Member Jane White was the lucky winner of Alfred Doolittle - the scarecrow who she successfully named in the competition.

The group is currently in their 89th year and meet the first Thursday of each month at 7.15pm in Mardy Community Hall. All visitors and new members are welcome to attend. The group are taking a trip to the American Museum in Bath next month.
