POET Mair Pitt will be discussing her new book of poetry, Power Play, illustrated by mixed media artist, Cwmbran-based Jill Powell at Usk Community Hub on Monday, November 19th at 12.00 noon.

Mair has written poetry for a number of years and her work has been published widely in magazines and anthologies. She also teaches creative writing in Usk Community Hub.

Power Play is published by arts organisation Culture Matters and it explores the theme of power as it affects children, women and society as a whole.

Councillor Paul Jordan, Monmouthshire’s cabinet member with responsibility for community hubs said, ‘It’s always fascinating to hear how writers approach their work and our meet the author events provide an absorbing insight.
