Local photographer Kath Evans has achieved distinction after being named as a ‘Master Craftsman’ with the Guild of Professional Photographers.

She is now one of a handful holding the prestigious title in the UK, being one of seven to achieve ‘Master Craftsman’ in the category of Newborn and Babies.

The Guild of Photographers is a highly regarded international photographic body whose members are dedicated to enhancing their skills in the art, craft and profession of photography.  Guild members pledge to deliver the highest standards of customer service and to continued professional development. Recognition as a ‘Master Craftsman’ is the pinnacle of that journey.

Becoming a ‘Master Craftsman’ with the Guild involves a rigorous assessment, awarding only photographers who evidence the very highest standards.

Lesley Thirsk, a director at the Guild, said she is delighted that Kath has achieved this accolade. It is only awarded to those that evidence truly exceptional photographic skill to a panel of internationally recognised experts from a variety of photographic backgrounds.

“She is an amazing photographer and thoroughly deserves this recognition.”

Kath said she is “overwhelmed and humbled to have achieved this award, seeing it as being a result of many years’ hard work, as well as a reflection of my commitment to deliver only the very best service to all my customers.”
