A recycling centre which serves residents in Abergavenny and other parts of north Monmouthshire will step in and open for those who live in the south of the county after a fire ripped through a recycling centre there.
On Monday morning, fire services were called top Caerwent’s Five Lanes Recycling Centre to what is now believed to have been started by the incorrect disposal of a vape.
A spokesperson for Monmouthshire Council said everyone has a role in preventing future incidents.
“To help prevent future incidents, please dispose of vapes responsibly by: - Returning them to a vape retailer that accepts used devices, or taking them to your nearest Household Waste and Recycling Centre and placing them in the electrical waste container,” a spokesperson said.
Five Lanes reopens on Friday.
