THE Three Peaks Trial Challenge Walk returned for its 63rd year on March 28.
Set up by Llanfoist author Chris Barber, the challenge is the oldest event of its type in the UK.
Now organised by Cardiff Outdoor Group, the weather was fine, and hundreds attended from all over the UK and beyond.

On the Platinum route, Laith Hofayz, from Reading, finished in a time of four hours and 16 minutes, and Rachel King, 46, from Abergavenny, finished in a time of six hours and 37 minutes.
On the Gold route, Ed Fletcher, 32, from Abergavenny, returned in a time of four hours, five minutes, and Olivia Parkin, 26, from Abergavenny, completed in a time of four hours and 30 minutes.
Zacharia Asri (London) and Lennart Horst (Cambridge) completed it in three hours, 58 minutes, but missed two of the low-level checkpoints, so unfortunately, their times couldn't count.

On the Silver route, Shaun Regan, 58, from Cwmbran, returned in a time of three hours, 57 minutes.
Jo Guy, 47, from Westbury, Wiltshire, completed in a time of four hours, 48 minutes.
On the Bronze route, Jane Thomas, 53, from Carmarthen, finished in a time of three hours and 57 minutes.
Thomas Dyer, 37, from Abergavenny, finished in a time of three hours and 52 minutes.
Laith Hofay from Reading said, "I thoroughly enjoyed the Three Peaks Challenge. It was well organised, full of fab people and lots of fun!"

Ron Allen from Abergavenny explained, "Thanks for organising this event, it was the first time I entered, and I really enjoyed it. I did the Silver route, but will do the Gold next year."
The organisers would like to thank Longtown Mountain Rescue Team, Gwent Wildlife Trust, and all the other organisations and individuals who supported the event.
