A local chef will open the demo stage at the Abergavenny Food Festival this weekend, as his meteoric rise in the world of cooking.

Jon Cholakian is a private chef from Abergavenny who has cooked for over 7,000 clients including comedian, Russell Howard and former professional athlete Iwan Thomas MBE.

The Chronicle also spoke to Jon after he had finished his cooking demo at the world-famous department store, Harrods, in March last year. But now, he is bringing his craft closer to home to share his talent with the community.

Known for combining classic techniques with bold flavours and contemporary presentation, Jon shares recipes, ideas and practical tips designed to inspire confident home cooking from 10am on Saturday morning in the Chefs Kitchen tent.
