Staff from a local building society thanked locals and generous businesses for helping their recent coffee morning become a resounding success. Over 150 people attended the coffee morning at the Principality Building Society on Wednesday last week, helping to raise over £600 for the Alzheimer’s Society Cymru, and the Teenage Cancer Trust.

Organisers offered coffee and cake and some ‘fantastic’ prizes, most of which were donated by independent local businesses, whilst Morrisons supplied the cupcakes. Sasha Garnet-Jones, branch manager of Abergavenny’s Principality Building Society, said the ‘phenomenal’ day was all thanks to generous local people. “It was outstanding. We helped raise a lot of money for some outstanding charities,” Staff thanked donors for raffle prizes, which included two-course meals, luxury clothing, red wine, Chanel perfume, and oven gloves.
