Wales’s Oldest Cinema, The Market Hall in Brynmawr, is to pay tribute
to David Bowie this weekend by playing two of his finest films - The
Man Who Fell To Earth and Labyrinth.
’When we heard of David’s sad passing we knew we had to do something to
commemorate this man, who was also a great British film star; as well as
a musician," said Beth Watkins of the cinema.
"I can remember as a kid queuing up to see Labyrinth 10 times. I just loved his fantastic hair.
Afterwards, I spent hours back-combing my hair to get that 80’s look.
I’ve still got the same style today!"
’We played both of these great films on first release,’ added cinema
manager Ralph Price. "My personal favourite is The Man Who Fell To Earth. It’s
a amazing film. I especially love all the gadgets he invents!’
The Man Who Fell To Earth plays at The Market Hall Cinema 10pm on Friday 15
and Labyrinth can be seen at 1pm on Saturday.
Tickets for both are available from the cinema box office.
