POPULAR local theatre company Breakthrough Productions return to the stage of the Borough Theatre this month with a brand new comedy certain to brighten the cold November nights.

Jude Garland Rides Again is the sequel to the multi A4B award winning Jude Garland’s Last Stand which delighted Abergavenny audiences five years ago.

The latest play reunited the team of Chris Philips and Andrew Fowler as hapless couple Paul and Sam who court disaster with every step.

Also returning are Sarah Philips as their whacky friend Jo and Luke Williams as con-man Jude.

Joining the cast for the first time as Frankie, is well known local actor Alys Le Moignan, making her first Abergavenny appearance since finishing her studies at university although she will be familiar face to social media fans thanks to her short films as part of the BBC Sesh programme.

The cast is completed by another well known local actor, Joe Pugh as Johnny Crawford.

The play, which is written by Abergavenny Chronicle editor Liz Davies, sees the four friends escaping from the rat race at a yoga retreat.

However the holiday doesn’t begin according to plan when they discover that they’ve inadvertently picked up the wrong suitcase from the ’holiday closet’ and are left having the raid the retreat’s lost property box for appropriate clothing.

Matters go from bad to worse when they are pursued by the murderous Johnny and come face to face with cunning conman Jude - who they last saw when they attempted to murder him and cut his body up with a chainsaw.

As ever chaos ensues as they try to make their escape from the yoga retreat before the police close in on them.
