LITTLE Mill WI members had a day visiting Denman WI College, set in the village of Marcham, Oxfordshire on Thursday, August 8th.
Denman is the WI’s centre for learning, offering a wealth of opportunities to learn new skills on day schools and residential courses in the fields of cookery, craft and lifestyle.
All residential courses include accommodation in an en-suite, uniquely decorated room, all meals and refreshments breaks, and hours of tutor-led workshops. Every year, Denman welcomes over 10,000 students who visit for a few hours, learn for a day, enjoy the overnight experience, or stay for weekends. The relaxing environment is a perfect place for fitting in the three main themes of cookery, craft and lifestyle. Courses range from advanced sewing courses to beginners baking to historical lectures.
Members were treated to a cookery demonstration by Paul Bellchambers in the morning; this was followed by a lovely lunch and a guided tour of the house and grounds. It was a great way to introduce our new members to all Denman has to offer.
